40 years ago civics classes taught the Constitution and that laws were created prohibit actions. Anything not covered by a legal prohibition was our right. Since then government has tripled, popular protests have been squashed and schools teach social studies instead. Laws now make things legal and we have the right to refuse government enforces and they in turn put you in jail until you see a judge to make a decision on whether or not what you did was illegal.

Recently my town just legalized lemonade stands under specific circumstances. Another town near me prohibits confetti. There only criminals have confetti. Government prohibited the sale of legal products without showing ID, examples are endless.

We all have stories of, for example, police threatening to tow your own car from you own driveway to help out a utility monopoly. Or coming into your home and asking you to identify yourself with picture ID. Sarcastically speaking we allow the government to take our civil rights because we aren’t using them anyway.

Fear is what causes us to freely give up our rights. We are sold the idea that someone will take our money by threat of force if we don’t pay taxes by the same threat of force. That if we don’t have an agency that requires people to pay fees and buy licenses these same people will not do their work well and cause harm to our environment or themselves. That paying penalties for shoddy work and damages caused is not enough. We need someone looking over our shoulders whenever we work or we will do something evil.

We are building a police state and we no longer have rights we had only 40 years ago. Every year our government gets bigger and enforcement of stupid laws gets more severe. Only a movement such as Simplify and Repeal can cut spending, make government smaller and thereby raise our standards of living. The Constitution did not change but now it is not taught in Civics and people do not know their rights. Police are bullies who have special rights to inconvenience or even kill us.

This is a clearing house for good ideas to simplify government. There is a Facebook page by the same name where we can find Libertarian based news items related to these ideas.

Charge for immigration? We have citizenship and residency that we can sell, and in the meantime Mexican coyotes and human smugglers are cleaning up getting money that could go to the public.

If someone is here illegally let them pay a fine or leave, their choice. Present law has no alternative to deportation.

Prohibit tax dollars to be used to educate the public. Ban Public Service Announcements paid by taxpayers. If the law is so stupid that people don’t know what is or is not illegal, and a sign isn’t good enough, then simplify or repeal the damn law.

Repeal all laws that have not been invoked in the last three
years. We all know about stupid laws that only serve to make tax payers pay
more, I have hundreds of stories right here.

And why not make money on drugs like we do with alcohol and
gambling? Tax drugs.

Prostitution is the silliest thing to try and regulate. We are free to have sex with whomever we want so long as no money changes hands. But if you take a picture that is pornography and that is legal.

We won’t stop immigration, sex, drugs or gambling but we try
can spend less money trying.

40 years ago civics classes taught the Constitution and that laws were created prohibit actions. Anything not covered by a legal prohibition was our right. Since then government has tripled, popular protests have been squashed and schools teach social studies instead. Laws now make things legal and we have the right to refuse government enforces … Continue reading Fear of our Neighbors

["post-816","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
